Pirelli tyre test for Jolyon on Tuesday

Jolyon will get behind the wheel of the Lotus F1 Team E23 Hybrid for tomorrow's (December 1) year-ending Pirelli tyre test at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The 24-year-old will carry out the Enstone-based outfit's entire running across the day, with his programme designated by Pirelli.

The test will be staged behind closed doors between 9am and 9pm and is being held to enable the Formula One tyre manufacturer to test its 2016 tyres, including a new ultrasoft compound which will be marked by purple sidewalls. Each team will only be allowed to run one car and each squad has been ordered not to test any new parts during their running.

Jolyon drove in Free Practice One at Yas Marina last Friday (November 27) ahead of the season finale Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but was unable to complete any meaningful running in his final FP1 for Lotus F1 Team before he steps up to a full race driver role in 20165. Due to a water leak before the session was scheduled to commence, the 2014 GP2 Champion was only able to join the track with just over 10 minutes remaining and completed eight laps.

Jolyon will be joined on track by world champions Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, who will share the Ferrari, with 2015 DTM Champion and Jolyon's Race of Champions Nations Cup partner Pascal Wehrlein driving for Mercedes. Other racers scheduled to be on track in Abu Dhabi include Daniel Ricciardo, Stoffel Vandoorne and Valtteri Bottas.
