Cover Star

It has been a hugely busy few weeks for Jolyon as he prepares for his debut F1 season.

The world's media descended on Paris for the launch of the Renault Sport Formula One Team earlier this month, in a trip that included a whirlwind PR tour for Jolyon and the rest of the squad. The British talent also visited Renault HQ in Viry where he was 'humbled' by the support received from employees at the French manufacturer.

Back in the UK and the attention has been just as great with national newspaper, The Guardian, writing its own full-page feature on Jolyon last Tuesday.

Another high arrived on Thursday when Jolyon was revealed as the cover star of this week's Autosport magazine.

"It will be a proud moment to join Jenson and Lewis on the grid," the 25-year-old told the world renowned publication.

The piece confirmed that Jolyon was ready to take more risks in 2016, having had to drive Romain Grosjean's car in 13 FP1 sessions last season.

"When you drive a car in FP1 that is obviously not yours, you don't fit perfectly into it, the settings are not for you, and if you crash it then you are ruining your team-mate's weekend," he continued.

"So you can't drive flat-out, and if you do and you make a mistake, then you're a big villain.

"But things are very different from when you are a Friday driver to being a race driver.

"I'm looking forward to getting back to racing as I know it, because when I was in GP2 there was no concern about being too cautious."

With the headline 'Britain's newest F1 hope' adorning the front cover, it's clear that Jolyon's following is rising high and so  - as you'd expect at the pinnacle of motor racing - are the expectations.

With just a little over a week before the first Formula One test of 2016 - to be held in Barcelona between 22-25 February - we'll be catching up with Jolyon right here over the coming days.
