Jolyon Palmer will compete in a unique karting event following this Saturday's (November 21) Race of Champions at London's former Olympic Stadium, as he takes on the assembled drivers which include Formula One world champions Sebastian Vettel and Jenson Button, and other high quality names from the motorsport world.

This will be the first time that the Race of Champions has featured a kart race - and it has been made possible by the new, wider pursuit-style track being used for this year's event, which no longer needs to be separated into two lanes. The drivers will compete in two heats, with the top-10 from each progressing to the final, where a winner will prove victorious.

The car line-up for both Friday's Nations Cup and Saturday's individual Race of Champions has also been revealed and, alongside the karts, will include the KTM X-Bow, Euro NASCAR and ROC car - along with the RX 200 and RX 150 buggies. The paddock will also featuring stunning cars such as the Mercedes AMG GT S, Ariel Atom Cup and Radical SR3 RSX.

The Race of Champions is an annual end-of-season contest which pitches some of the world's greatest drivers from motorsport's major disciplines against each other in head-to-head races in identical machinery, and gets underway at 14:50 this Saturday. The Race of Champions Nations Cup, where drivers compete in teams of two, takes place on the Friday evening (November 20) and Jolyon will pair up with 2015 DTM Champion Pascal Wehrlein for Team Young Stars, where he will face recently crowned MotoGP champion Lorenzo in the opening round.

For this year, both events will feature an Olympic cycling-style pursuit race on an all-new track that is both wider and faster than in previous years. Drivers will start next to each other but race in opposite directions, building up to a big finish where the winner will be clearly visible as they cross the line.
