Jolyon ready to continue good form in Spanish test on Wednesday

Following on from his impressive performance in last Friday's (8 May) Free Practice One session in Spain, Jolyon will get behind the wheel once again for the second day of the in-season Formula One test at the Barcelona track tomorrow (Wednesday).

The 24-year-old will take over from Pastor Maldonado, who will drive the E23 Hybrid on the first day of the test. This will be Jolyon's third F1 outing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, as he participated in the second day of an official pre-season test at the track in February, his first taste of Lotus F1 Team's 2015 challenger.

The 2014 GP2 Champion completed 21 laps in FP1 on Friday and finished with a best lap-time of 1m29.676s, which put him in a strong 13th position. That left him ahead of the much improved McLaren's of former world champions Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button and ahead of his team-mate Maldonado, who finished the session in 18th position.

Earlier in the year, Lotus F1 Team's Third and Reserve Driver racked up 77 laps at a pre-season test, producing a fastest lap-time of 1m26.280s, eighth-quickest on the day. He has subsequently driven in three Free Practice sessions, China, Bahrain and Spain, and will enjoy time in the cockpit in a significant number of further sessions throughout the season.

Jolyon said: "It's nice to be back in the car in Barcelona having driven here on Friday and watched the weekend unfold. We will have a busy day with lots of test items to work on and hopefully we can find some more gains in overall performance."

You can follow all the action with updates on Jolyon's official website from 08:00 in the UK tomorrow.
