Jolyon joins ITV for Formula E Commentary

Jolyon Palmer was on the ITV4 sofa last night (Saturday) to provide analysis on the sixth round of the Formula E Championship at Long Beach. He joined host Jennie Gow and ex-Formula One mechanic and fellow Formula E pundit Marc Priestley to provide insight into the race.

There was plenty for Jolyon to talk about as Nelson Piquet Jr. took a commanding win around the streets of the American city.  The Brazilian took the lead from pole-sitter Daniel Abt and never looked back to streak to victory. Behind, there was plenty of controversy as Nico Prost drove into the side of Jerome D'Ambrosio and Charles Pic, who wiped out Jarno Trulli with a careless move.

It was not the first time Jolyon has offered his thoughts on Formula E for ITV as he provided analysis on the fourth round of the championship, held in Buenos Aires in January.

Earlier in the day, Jolyon had been at Oulton Park supporting younger brother Will in the Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship. He watched his sibling claim a dominant win at the Cheshire circuit before heading off to cover the Formula E race.

It has been a busy week for the reigning GP2 Champion as he spent time at Lotus F1 Team's factory in Enstone ahead of his Formula One session debut on a Grand Prix weekend in China this Friday. Jolyon, as Third and Reserve Driver for the squad, will take part in Free Practice One at the Shanghai track and has been clocking up the miles in the simulator, refining set-up and analysing data in preparation for the race.

You can watch Jolyon make his Formula One debut on a Grand Prix Weekend on the Sky Sports F1 Channel from 02:45am this Friday.
