Jolyon to test on Wednesday for Lotus F1 Team in Austria

Jolyon Palmer will resume driving duties for Lotus F1 Team this Wednesday (24 June) as he gets behind the wheel of the E23 Hybrid for the second and final day of the official in-season test at the Red Bull Ring following last weekend's Austrian Grand Prix.

The 24-year-old took to the track in Spielberg last Friday (19 June) for Free Practice One, finishing the 90-minute session in 14th place, just 0.046s behind his team-mate Pastor Maldonado. Jolyon completed 27 laps of the circuit and posted a fastest time of 1m12.050s, which left the Brit just over a tenth of a second off breaking into the top-10.

In Sunday's Grand Prix, Venezuelan Maldonado finished in the points by claiming seventh, following a penultimate lap overtake of youngster Max Verstappen. Romain Grosjean, Lotus F1 Team's other main race driver, suffered a gearbox issue which ended his afternoon early.

At the last official in-season test last month, held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Jolyon topped the timesheets for Lotus F1 Team. On Wednesday, he will be driving alongside his former GP2 title rival Felipe Nasr, GP3 title contender Esteban Ocon and double F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso among others.

You can follow the action from Wednesday's test session with updates on Jolyon's official website.
