Palmer makes Lotus F1 Debut

Jolyon Palmer turned his first laps for Lotus F1 Team this morning (Friday) as he took over driving duties of the E23 for the second day of the official pre-season Formula One test at Barcelona.

The 2014 GP2 Champion focused initially on collating aerodynamic performance data for the team in his role as official Third Driver. After completing 19 laps during the morning's first three hours, the 24-year-old had posted a fastest time of 1m28.128s and sat eighth in the timesheets.

Palmer will continue in the cockpit for the rest of the day's running before handing the car back to Venezuelan driver Pastor Maldonado for the third day of the pre-season test.
