Brands Hatch F1 outing for Jolyon

Jolyon Palmer will be behind the wheel of Lotus F1 Team's E23 Hybrid at Brands Hatch this Monday (27 April) as Grand Prix machinery returns to the track for the first time in many years. The venue will be open to the public free of charge all day as the Enstone-based outfit undertakes a special filming day.

The Southwater ace will join the team's other drivers, Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado, driving the team's 2015 challenger. A Grand Prix-winning Lotus 72 E-5 will also be on track as part of the filming day's activities, with pit-stop demonstrations, side-by-side action, practice starts and hot laps in road-going Lotus cars featuring throughout the day.

Spectators are encouraged to bring Lotus F1 Team flags, banners and clothing to help create a carnival atmosphere, with gates opening at 8:45am. The Paddock Hill and Pit Straight grandstands will be fully open, and food and drink will be available from the circuit's restaurants. Fans also have the chance to win pairs of VIP paddock passes through an online social media competition run by the team.

Jolyon is well acquainted with the Brands Hatch circuit having taken victory in a Formula Palmer Audi race at the venue in 2007.

This will be the first opportunity for the public to see modern F1 machinery on the famed Brands Hatch circuit since double World Champion Lewis Hamilton drove his title-winning 2008 McLaren Mercedes MP4-23 in a demonstration at that year's DTM event at the track.
