Jolyon Palmer has lost his fourth place grid position for today's GP2 Feature Race at Monza, after his DAMS car was found to have less than the mandatory one litre of fuel remaining at the end of the qualifying session.

The resulting penalty means Jolyon will be forced to start from the back of the grid for the race, having qualified fourth.

Palmer commented: "It's very disappointing to have to start last today after the car failed post qualifying scrutineering checks. The car wasn't under weight, and we had enough fuel for a sample, but we didn't have the mandatory one litre of fuel in the car at the end and that is the regulation.

"Clearly there was no performance advantage here and it was a mistake with the fuel calculations. It's a big blow but nonetheless I will give my all to come through from the back and try and salvage something from the weekend. It should be an exciting race at least!"
