Jolyon concludes excellent Abu Dhabi test

Jolyon recorded the fastest overall time of the three day GP2 pre-season test in Abu Dhabi, which ended today (Thursday) after another pair of strong showings.

This morning's session was run in tricky windy conditions which resulted in sand being blown onto the track. Jolyon finished third in the standings, a mere three tenths away from the top of the table.

Jolyon returned to the track in the afternoon and once again underlined his pace by setting the fourth fastest time of the session with a 1m51.563s lap. Faster lap times weren't possible as the session drew to a close due to the surprise appearance of rain.

Jolyon's opening day benchmark of 1m49.126s remained unbeaten at the close of play, ensuring he ended the test - his first since signing with DAMS - as the fastest overall driver.

Jolyon heads to Bahrain for the final pre-season test on 19-21 March.

Speaking after stepping out of the car, Jolyon commented, "We had quite a varied plan today, in the morning we tried another qualifying run on super softs which wasn't bad. This afternoon we did a mixture of long runs, practice starts and a new tyre run at the end of the day as well. Everything is looking good at the moment and I'm really enjoying working with DAMS. Now we are focusing on Bahrain and some new challenges."
