Jolyon Palmer set the 12th fastest time in this morning's 45 minute GP2 free practice session at Hockenheim.

Jolyon's first time saw him go fastest on a 1m25.494s, 0.182s clear of the field. That time was to prove Palmer's quickest of the session, with the 23-year-old completing 21 laps.

As the rest of the field improved, Jolyon slid down to 12th, but still only 0.723s off the quickest time in the session, set by Stefano Coletti.

Jolyon commented: "It wasn't the ideal start to the weekend with P12 in practice. I didn't put together a great lap and struggled a lot with rear tyres going off so we have a bit to find. I'm still hopeful of fighting at the front in qualifying again though."
