Palmer determined to extend GP2 lead once more at Spa Francorchamps

Jolyon Palmer heads to the famous Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium this weekend, confident of extending his already formidable GP2 Championship lead after a lengthy summer break.

The DAMS driver was last in action a month ago at the Hungaroring, where he showed his renowned overtaking skills to defeat championship rival Felipe Nasr in both races. Jolyon extended his championship lead over the Brazilian and took his eighth podium finish from the 14 races held so far. The 23-year-old is also the only driver to have finished every race in the points in 2014.

Palmer commented: "It feels great to be back racing this weekend after the summer break. I love driving at Spa, it's a really challenging circuit with lots of high speed corners where you need to be super committed. As usual there, the weather can play its part and I'm sure strategy will be crucial as always. Overtaking is easier at Spa so I expect the races will be as exciting as usual. The aim is to be back on the top step of the podium!"

Full coverage of rounds 15 and 16 of the 2014 GP2 season at Spa Francorchamps, including live timing, will be available on Jolyon's official website www.jolyonpalmer.com, while TV coverage of all sessions will be available on Sky F1's HD channel. The first practice session gets underway at 11am UK time on Friday 22 August.
