Successful second test day for Jolyon Palmer in Jerez

Jolyon Palmer completed a productive second day (Wednesday, 27 February) of GP2 testing in Jerez, with the Carlin driver showing strong pace during race simulations.

After a frustrating stop/start morning session, hampered by four separate red flags, the 22-year-old Brit used the afternoon stint to focus on longer runs as well as fine tuning his set up.

"We had a very good afternoon doing race runs," said Palmer, who will contest his third season of the F1 feeder-series this year. "Our pace looks very competitive on the longer runs. We managed to also do a few set up changes and made good progress. Finally, we managed to fix our gearbox problem so hopefully we can move on and have a good day tomorrow."

Meanwhile, Hilmer's Tom Dillmann went fastest overall for the day with Stefano Coletti, driving for Rapax, in second and ART's James Calado in third.

The third and final day of testing takes place tomorrow with full coverage on Jolyon's official website.
