Weather hampers running on third morning in Jerez

Rain has disrupted the third morning (Thursday, 28 February) of GP2 testing in Jerez, with Jolyon Palmer electing to focus on practice starts and pit stops.

Drivers were greeted with a wet track following overnight rain and the first opportunity to test on wet tyres. Both Jolyon and his Carlin team-mate Felipe Nasr opted to use the early stages to concentrate on practice pit stops and race starts, waiting for the track to dry out before Jolyon ventured out on old rubber - completing a total of 25 laps.

"Despite the weather we managed to have a productive morning," said 22-year-old Palmer. "The track improved towards the end of the run but we had very old tyres on so the lap time is not comparable. Now we are hoping to do more low fuel running this afternoon."

Testing continues this afternoon with full coverage on Jolyon's official website.
