Palmer sets sights on GP2 wins in Bahrain this weekend

West Sussex GP2 driver Jolyon Palmer is aiming for 'a win or two' in rounds three and four of the GP2 series in Bahrain this weekend (20/21 April).

The 22-year old from Southwater, who drives for the Carlin team in the F1 feeder series, played a starring role during the season opener in Malaysia last month, gaining a remarkable 32 positions over both races after mechanical issues struck during qualifying. Jolyon currently lies eighth in the GP2 standings, and now expects to transfer his pace over to Bahrain.

"The races in Malaysia were two of the best I've been in," said Jolyon. "My pace was very strong so it looks promising for the rest of the year, and I'm feeling very confident ahead of Bahrain. Last year I had some good pace in Bahrain even though we didn't get the results we deserved because of mechanical issues. So hopefully this weekend we can continue the form from last year and the speed shown in Malaysia to hopefully fight for a win or two."

Full coverage of rounds three and four of the 2013 GP2 season at Bahrain, including live timing, will be available on Jolyon's official website while live TV coverage of all sessions will be available on Sky's F1 HD Channel. The first practice session gets underway at 10am (UK time) on Friday 19 April.
