Jolyon Palmer's impressive performance during the 2012 GP2 season has been recognised by leading motorsport title Autosport with the publication rating him as the sixth best driver of the year.

The 21-year-old Brit chose to race in the F1 feeder-series this year with iSport International, following a promising debut campaign with Arden in 2011. After a luckless start where he faced a recurring electrical issue, Jolyon finally got the results his potential deserved with a sensational maiden win at the showpiece event of the season at Monaco. This was followed up with two further podiums at his home event of Silverstone and Italy's legendary Monza circuit, totalling 12 top 10 finishes.

Jolyon ended his season 11th in the drivers' standings and no doubt would have been considerably higher had it not been for his mechanical woes at the start of the year.
