Jolyon Palmer targets strong results at Hungaroring

Jolyon Palmer is keen to put the frustrations of the last GP2 event at Hockenheim behind him and focus on achieving strong results during this weekend's rounds in Budapest, Hungary.

Having endured a tough Feature Race on Saturday, the 21-year-old Brit produced a brilliant drive in Sunday's Sprint Race to make up 11 places from the rear of the grid and finish in the points.

"I had a great race," said Jolyon, "coming from 18th on the grid I managed to maintain a good pace whilst saving my tyres and then at the end of the race I passed a lot of cars and was very close to being P6 at the end. I'm happy with seventh though and it's great to finally get something out of this weekend."

Unfortunately for Jolyon, he was later stripped of his hard-earned result after the stewards deemed he had overtaken under yellow flags whilst involved in a frantic battle with Stefano Coletti, who was also penalised.

Now Jolyon aims to move on from this and concentrate on achieving a strong points haul during this weekend's (27-29 July) rounds 17 and 18 at the Hungaroring, racing alongside the Formula One World Championship. He added: "Coming back to Hungary this year I feel more confident and especially after having a good race at Germany. The track is very tight and twisty so qualifying will be very important. In Germany we struggled getting the wet tyres to work but hopefully we can find a solution to the problem if it rains again this weekend. After not scoring in Germany last time out it is important to pick up some more points this weekend."

The next GP2 rounds get underway in Budapest on 27-29 July with full coverage on Jolyon's website www.jolyonpalmer.com. All four GP2 sessions will also be screened live in the UK on the new Sky Sports F1 channel.
