Jolyon concludes final test day 11th overall

Jolyon Palmer concluded today's (Thursday) official GP2 test in Barcelona by going 11th fastest overall and ending a productive two-day session in preparation for the GP2 Finals race in Abu Dhabi next month.

Running with leading British team Carlin after finishing P10 with Addax yesterday, Jolyon spent the majority of the afternoon stint running race simulations in his 612bhp GP2 car.

As the session got underway at the Circuit de Catalunya, Jolyon was running P6 before lying P9 at the halfway stage. After making set up changes, the 20-year-old Brit focused on long fuel runs rather than outright pace to end the session P19 - 11th quickest for the day.

Jolyon, who was the 2010 FIA Formula Two runner-up, commented afterwards: "We had a good afternoon. We did back-to-back long runs and learnt something for the set up. The pace on the runs was good so all in all I am very happy with the day."

Stefano Coletti topped the timesheets for the session followed by Alexander Rossi and Nathanaël Berthon.

Jolyon will now prepare for the GP2 Finals race in November at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi alongside Formula One.
