Jolyon confident of points finish in Barcelona

British racing driver Jolyon Palmer has his sights firmly set on his first GP2 points finish this weekend (20-22 May), when the Formula 1 feeder series travels to Barcelona for rounds three and four.

Jolyon, who is competing in his debut GP2 season this year, produced a solid performance on his inaugural GP2 weekend in Turkey earlier this month securing a top 10 finish and ending as the best of this year's rookie drivers.

The 20-year-old from Southwater, West Sussex, is now hoping he can carry over his good form to the 4.655km Circuit de Catalunya circuit - a track he knows well.

"I'm looking forward to this weekend," said Jolyon, who races for Arden International. "We've already done two days of testing at Barcelona so I feel I know the track well. As in Turkey, the races will all come down to tyre degradation so I think this will be the main focus throughout the weekend. I'm hoping for my first points finish, as so far I've had decent pace but nothing to show for it."

Jolyon, son for of former Formula 1 driver Jonathan, steps up to the GP2 series after a successful season in the FIA Formula Two Championship last year in which he narrowly missed out on the title spot at the final round, finishing second overall.

Be sure to follow Jolyon's progress this weekend by visiting his official website or alternatively watching all the action on British Eurosport 2. Coverage starts from 9am on Sunday 22 May with highlights of race one plus live coverage of race two.
