Jolyon stars at celebrity driving event

Jolyon Palmer joined celebrities including former rugby ace Jeremy Guscott and Olympic athlete Iwan Thomas recently to take part in a PalmerSport driving event at Bedford Autodrome organised by TAG Heuer.

The 20-year-old GP2 driver was one of three BRDC Superstars invited to the day to share some of his extensive racing experience with the invited guests.

All the participants, which included former rugby star Kenny Logan, took part in the full PalmerSport event, which is recognised as the best of its type in the world and run by former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer.

A BMW M3 GTP, Formula Jaguar and a Porsche 911 JP3 were just a few of the seven high performance cars guests were able to sample during their day - aided by some useful tips from Jolyon.

Speaking about the event Jolyon said: "I was invited to join the Tag Heuer PalmerSport day as one of the three BRDC Superstars, to offer help and set benchmark times for the guests at the event. I thoroughly enjoyed the day, with a really good bunch of people and it was nice to thrash the cars around to their limits!"

The day also saw guests take expert advice from fellow BRDC Superstars Alex Macdowall and Formula Renault 3.5 driver Oli Webb, along with former British Touring Car champion Tim Harvey.

Jolyon is currently racing for Arden International in GP2, a feeder series to Formula One, with his next event taking place in Valencia on 24-26 June.
