Jolyon targets strong results in Germany

British racer Jolyon Palmer is hoping Germany's Nürburgring will yield his maiden GP2 points finish when the series visits there this coming weekend for rounds 11 and 12.

The 20-year-old, who drives for Arden International, has already shown great potential as one of the leading rookie drivers in the F1 feeder-series but is still chasing his first points score after coming frustratingly close on many occasions.

Jolyon, runner-up in the 2010 FIA Formula Two Championship, is now looking forward to racing on the 5.148 German F1 venue, especially after a solid couple of weekends at Valencia and his home circuit of Silverstone last time out.

Indeed, as well as out pacing his experienced team-mate, Josek Kral, in every session at the Northamptonshire circuit, Jolyon finished in a superb 10th place during the opening Feature Race only to be later handed a 30-second denying him a likely points finish in the weekend's second race.

"I'm looking forward to the Nürburgring circuit," said Jolyon. "I like the flow of the circuit and I'm looking forward to building on a solid couple of weekends at Valencia and Silverstone. Hopefully this weekend I can improve and get some points."

Rounds 11 and 12 of the 2011 GP2 Series take place at the Nürburgring from 22-24 July with full coverage available on Jolyon's official website. Coverage is also available via Eurosport and on Jolyon's Facebook page.
