Jolyon: “I can’t wait for Silverstone”

Southwater racer Jolyon Palmer says he can't wait for this weekend's GP2 rounds at Silverstone and the chance to perform in front of his home crowd.

The 20-year-old is aiming to secure his maiden points finish in the Formula One feeder-series when rounds nine and 10 play out alongside the British Grand Prix from 8-10 July.

Jolyon, who is racing in his first season of the series with Arden International, has already enjoyed a string of impressive results with two top 10 finishes to his name, but is eager to go one better this weekend.

As well as Silverstone being his home circuit, Jolyon is feeling confident having shown great pace during pre-season testing at the 5.891km Northamptonshire circuit, during which he looked quick in both wet and dry conditions, finishing second fastest in the opening session.

Commenting on the forthcoming races Jolyon said: "I'm looking forward to Silverstone as it's my home race and a track I know very well. The weather, as always, will probably be unpredictable but during testing in both wet and dry conditions I was in the top 10 so I'm hopeful for a good weekend and I can't wait to get started."
