Jolyon Palmer will start Saturday's GP2 Feature race from 22nd on the grid after a closely-fought qualifying session at the Nurburgring.

Jolyon recorded a time of 1:40.317s, which improved on his best time from this morning's free practice, where he finished an impressive eighth fastest. He ended just 1.2 seconds off pole-man Charles Pic, but disappointed not to be challenging for a top ten position after an encouraging start to the event.

Speaking afterwards Jolyon said: "That was a difficult session where I flat spotted my right front tyre early on, on both sets. Starting 22nd is a massive disappointment after this morning's practice and now I'm hoping for rain tomorrow."

Rounds 11 and 12 of the 2011 GP2 Series take place at the Nürburgring from 22-24 July with full coverage available on Jolyon's official website. Coverage is also available via Eurosport and on Jolyon's Facebook page.

Saturday's Feature Race will begin at 15:40pm local time.
