Following his successful GP2 debut in Abu Dhabi last weekend, Jolyon Palmer has soared in the Castrol Rankings and now finds himself ranked in the world's top 100 drivers, and amongst the top 15 Britons.

Castrol Rankings is a comprehensive global driver ranking system which analyses over 50 world motorsport series and monitors over 2,000 drivers in order to provide a complete picture of which drivers are performing best around the world.

As a result of an accomplished opening weekend of GP2 Asia, where Jolyon battled to 14th in the feature race before finishing an excellent 10th in the sprint contest, he has soared in the overall rankings and now finds himself within the top 100 drivers in the world - narrowly behind current F1 driver Heikki Kovalainen.

Impressively Jolyon also currently ranks as the 15th best Briton in the world, and with several older and more experienced drivers ahead of him it cements his reputation as one of the UK's best young talents.

Jolyon will have further opportunity to progress through the rankings when he takes to the Bahrain International Circuit for the second round of the 2011 GP2 Asia series this weekend (17-19 February).
