Jolyon Palmer found good pace in the improved weather to record the ninth fastest time in the morning session of GP2 testing at Silverstone today.

With dry conditions and bright sunshine in complete contrast to the previous day's rain, Jolyon's fastest lap was just six tenths of a second away from Christian Vietoris.

Concentrating on set-up development, Jolyon set his fastest time on the sixteenth of an eventual thirty-six laps.

Jolyon said, "I had a good session this morning, the issues from yesterday were dialled out by changing to a different set of tyres and a couple of adjustments to the set up. I managed a decent lap early on with fresh rubber, however the track wasn't at its best and I made some small errors. P9 is good though and I'm sure there is more pace in there this afternoon."
