Jolyon Palmer honoured at 2010 FIA Awards Gala

Jolyon Palmer and his 2010 title rival Dean Stoneman were honoured during the 2010 FIA Prize Gala in Monaco on 11 December, as the pair both collected awards for their championship performances.

The FIA Gala, held on an annual basis to commemorate the year's sporting heroes, saw Formula One's youngest ever World Champion Sebastian Vettel collect the Driver's Trophy from Jean Todt, while Bernie Ecclestone presented Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner with the Constructor's Trophy.

Alongside such luminaries, Jolyon Palmer was rewarded for a superb campaign in Formula Two which saw the Briton collect five wins, five pole positions and ten podiums over the season. Impressively, his emphatic double win at Monza remained the most successful weekend any driver enjoyed during the season.

Dean Stoneman meanwhile was also honoured, after the 20-year-old eventually emerged from a season-long battle with Palmer to clinch the title in the final round at Valencia. Stoneman's six wins, 13 podiums and six pole positions gave him the best record of any driver in the championship.

In total six different drivers secured victories during an impressive second season of competition for Formula Two in 2010, while 14 separate drivers collected podiums across the 18 races.
