AFTER ROUND 11
The 2010 Formula Palmer Audi Championship gets underway at Oulton Park today, with Frenchman Maxime Jousse looking to continue a sensational start to the season which has seen him record five wins in the opening seven races.
Jousse's phenomenal run also includes a triple-victory in the last round at Snetterton, helping him to move 39 points clear of nearest rival, Ginetta graduate Nigel Moore.
Moore will be chasing his maiden win here at Oulton Park, although the talented Briton - a former Ginetta G50 champion - has four second-place finishes to his credit so far this season.
He heads a farntic four-way fight for the championship second-spot, with the Spanish duo Ramon Pineiro and Jose Alonso Liste, and Dutchman Melroy Heemskerk, separated by just 11 points.
This weekend's field also comprises Vincent Beltoise and Kieran Vernon, both of whom will be targeting sixth spot in the championship, while Mark Powell makes his 2010 debut having contested several events last year.
Powell will be among 14 drivers competing this weekend, with two free practice sessions on Friday before qualifying for rounds eight and nine of the championship commences on Saturday at 08.30 BST.
