Spaniard Ramón Piñeiro has joined the Formula Palmer Audi field for the final two rounds of the season with an eye on joining the FIA Formula Two field for 2010.

Piñeiro joins fellow countryman José Alonso Liste on the FPA grid having competed in two seasons of Formula BMW Europe. Seventeen year-old Piñeiro enjoyed a successful debut season in the one make series, scoring two pole positions and a fastest lap in 2008. During the season he competed alongside Formula Two race winner Philipp Eng.

Piñeiro's first single seater pole position came at Silverstone in 2008 and he will be looking to emulate this feat when he returns to the circuit in a Formula Palmer Audi car.

The teenager is looking forward to racing in the UK in front of what he believes are the world's most passionate fans.
