Italian-American fashion designer Luca Orlandi will be taking time away from the catwalk to compete in the Formula Palmer Audi championship in 2009.

After experiencing karting success during his youth, Luca decided to start racing again by competing in the Skip Barber series in 2007. Good results in America led Orlandi back to Europe where he contested four rounds of the main Formula Palmer Audi championship, before finishing an  impressive 10^th during the 2008 FPA Autumn Trophy.

As a famous designer, Orlandi has created outfits for some of the world's biggest celebrities including Halle Berry, Paris Hilton and Cindy Crawford. Born in Milan, Orlandi is a celebrity in his own right having opened a number of his 'Luca Luca' stores and boutiques across America.
