The FPA Car

An FPA car generates 300bhp from a 1.8-litre turbocharged Audi engine, which incorporates an overboost feature that increases power to 360bhp for an eight second burst. On the push of a button, each driver can call upon extra power to help complete a pass, or defend a challenge.

New for 2010 - the FPA cars will feature all new onboard video camera technology to aid driver performance analysis.

Cooling

Suspension

Advanced push-rod activated systems incorporating anti-squat and anti-dive operates on wide based aerofoil section wishbones mounted in double shear, which include the latest anti-intrusion bar requirements. Uprights are cast in heat-treated aluminium and incorporate large diameter angular contact bearings. Ohlins dampers adjustable in bump and rebound. Fully adjustable front and rear anti roll bars.

Brakes

Lightweight double acting 4 pot calipers and diameter ventilated floating discs all round. Fully aero quipped with cockpit adjustable front-to-rear bias.

Aerodynamics

Front Wing Full width one-piece carbon composite - adjustable main plane with composite wing end plates and flaps.
Rear Wing Three upper elements mounted on composite end plates to a lower carbon composite element attached to the gearbox.
Floor 50mm stepped floor with composite rear diffuser.

Tyres

Specifically designed and supplied by Avon to suit requirements of Formula Palmer Audi. Both front and rear are new, specially made for the car. Construction and compound developed to provide a tyre with consistent grip and good durability.

Fuel System

A 45 litre minimum usable capacity foam filled cell to F3 specification located behind the driver's seat bulkhead and in front of the rear monocoque bulkhead.

Stack system electronic instrumentation and data acquisition, monitoring driver inputs (steering and throttle position) plus essential engine data.
